Diversity, equity, access, and inclusion (DEAI) are cornerstones of the Field Museum. The Field Museum strives to become a diverse, equitable, accessible, and inclusive institution at every level, both internally and as a public-facing museum. Our mission with our DEAI Staff-Led Council at the Museum is to work in concert with Museum colleagues and alongside a new Board Diversity and Equity Committee. To fulfill this objective, we aim to establish systems and spaces for the staff-led council to productively contribute their varied opinions, different approaches, new perspectives, and talent to evaluate and shape the Museum's mission, culture, practices, and policies. We recognize the staff-led council cannot and should not work in a silo, and therefore we will strive to create bridges for every member of the Field Museum community to contribute to advancing DEAI principles and practices across all aspects of the Museum.
